A purposeful saying from Dale Carnegie that he pasted on his mirror to reflect upon each morning as he began his day:

“I shall  pass this way but once; any good, therefore, that I can do in kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now.  Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”

Genuine kindness, understanding, and appreciation with others pays great dividends.  Neglecting this chance affects your life and the lives of others; you may only have one chance.

Talking with a friend yesterday, they shared that they were recently touched when a gentleman reached out to them via social media.  Once the man confirmed that he had found the right person, he went on to thank them for changing his life.  Quite a profound statement, but in this man’s life story, the primary turning point in his life resulted from the friend taking the opportunity to understand and relate with him at a critical time.  From this kindness shown to another human being, he chose a dramatically better path and has stayed on it.  From the timely effort of kindness, he has grown from a young man in juvenile detention into a successful professional with a healthy family and many years of gratitude for the person that cared about him.

Let’s be kind each day, it matter’s.
