Change brings risk, as does not changing.
It’s important to reflect here on a quote from Thomas Sowell: “Life does not ask what we want. It presents us with options.”
You have options to decide upon those actions that will either promote change or the inactions that “protect” you from change. Sorry, there is equal risk with all options presented to you.
To make a difference in your work, pursue actions (and associated risks) to apply what you have learned to facilitate change.
“All courses of action are risky, so prudence is not in avoiding danger (it’s impossible), but calculating risk and acting decisively. Make mistakes of ambition and not mistakes of sloth. Develop the strength to do bold things, not the strength to suffer.” — Niccolo Machiavelli —
