Life presents challenges for all of us. This is our fate, love it or not.
Sometimes these mounting challenges will present an overwhelming sense of doubt in our minds. We can become unsure of our capacity to work through them all at once.
Our challenges, when met with an internal resistance to deal with the reality of each of them as an optimistic learner, can quickly shift our mindset to pessimism. The mind closes and we fail to even accept the challenges. This is when we can become overwhelmed.
Fortunately or unfortunately, we learn and grow best through challenges to become smarter, more adaptive, more creative, more connected and more open in our mindset on through to our actions and the next actions after those. Reaching for our potential to attain the clearly defined purpose in life can never be forgotten. This is why it is important to clearly define and live for that purpose. Your genuine purpose for your life will not be overcome by challenges.
We know that it is better to have held ourselves accountable to our purpose and struggled than to have walked away from our challenges. Your optimism and determination to reach toward your purpose will drive us to learn how to best overcome them. Your potential being reached and your level of contributions with others relies upon this intense focus on purpose.
Overwhelmed? Focus again on your purpose and learn your way through with others.
“I speak of a tragic optimism, that is, an optimism in the face of tragedy and in view of the human potential which at its best always allows for: (1) turning suffering into a human achievement and accomplishment; (2) deriving from guilt the opportunity to change oneself for the better; and (3) deriving from life’s transitoriness an incentive to take responsible action.” — Viktor Frankl —
