What is it that brings us to want to control something that is well outside of our ability to effect it in any way? No wonder we sometimes feel as though we are becoming overwhelmed.
Throughout the day today, it will snow somewhere between six to twelve inches on our driveway. Mother Nature is clearly in control with this one. But, we might worry about such uncontrollable forces nonetheless.
Just scoop it up the snow from where it shouldn’t be when it is over. There is nowhere we really need to go today, most activities have been cancelled in advance. No worries.
Your reaction to the reality of the outcomes presented to us is all that we might control. Be informed, remain calm, and scoop off the snow. When it is over, it then becomes a choice for you to make.
“Forces beyond our control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation.” — Viktor Frankl —
