It’s hard to believe something will happen for the first time, before the first time happens.
Most of us hadn’t given much consideration to a global pandemic. People spoke of the concern, but few actions were taken to prepare as a society. It didn’t happen, so we didn’t prepare.
On a much smaller scale in our own lives, we continue to ignore the inevitability of change and new truths. Be conscientious of what you believe to be self-evident because it has always been that way for you. Own for yourself a mind that is open for continual learning, looking to perceive things that might change or be different for us. Even direct consideration again to those things that you are the most absolutely certain of or the things you most strongly oppose.
Discover new truths. Learn and apply what you are learning of, even before you would experience them yourself. What will never happen in your lifetime may happen in your lifetime.
“All truth passes through three stages. First it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident.” — Arthur Schopenhauer —
