In one sense, this blog is written each weekday morning to promote the sharing of ideas. Ideas to prompt another thought and possibly idea for each of you. Ideas for something new or something better. One then that you would also share again. The value of the ideas shared won’t be known to me or to you personally until you apply them. The ideas shouldn’t lie dormant, they were shared to be built upon in your ideas.
It is important for us to share our ideas without having to claim personal ownership for them and/or to take credit if another applies them well. The ideas I share were written and referenced by others for me to consume in my reading and in my experiences. None of what I share are my ideas alone, they were shared and I add in my ideas to the narrative.
The greatest of ideas are ruminated over and repeated in new and different contexts. They spread because they were the basis of other excellent ideas and worked for differing applications. One idea builds upon another and progress is found through what people are together learning. This is why we share.
Simply offer your ideas and consume those of others to continue learning together. Most ideas will become better ones when another creative mind adds to it. Pay ideas forward.
“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange those apples then you and I still have two apples. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.” –George Bernard Shaw —
