On occasion, we will come to be offended by the words and/or actions of another. Our tendency is then to immediately react with words or actions of our own. A chain of actions and reactions may then occur. To what end might you hope to achieve by engaging?
Pause to determine what benefit you might gain in your reaction. If another honks at you in traffic and offers a special gesture just for you, will you immediately bristle and respond with a honk and special gesture of your own?
Know what you might aim to accomplish before responding.
