Communicate

We may first believe that we have effectively communicated a direction with others only to quickly learn that your intentional message didn’t get through to others.

Our ability to communicate with others is a critical element of our effectiveness and the depth of our relationships. It is largely impossible to reach our goals and the goals of others without communicating well together. If we are unable to communicate well to engage with others, our input and ideas will go nowhere.

Monitor your communication to continually improve it’s efficacy. Check for understanding. Mutually respect those whom you are communicating with. Intend to engage rather than to tell. Learn from others what they want to believe and what they want to understand.

“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” — George Bernard Shaw —
