To become and to remain happy, act in the service of others. A key to our own happiness and satisfaction with life lies within our capacity to do a service for another. The best sort of service would be a favor that could never be repaid and you wouldn’t expect it to be.
In service, a kind word or gesture may be all that it takes to lift another and then yourself for having done so. To start, consider another before yourself and your immediate needs as you act throughout each day.
Keep open your mind to become mutually engaged and personally involved in the success and happiness of others. Experience for yourself the decisions you make along with the positive or negative effect your decisions and actions will have on others.
Aim always to serve another and happiness will follow.
“I don’t know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” — Albert Schweitzer —
