It is often the simplest of things in life that create the most vivid memories we will keep with us forever. A special moment with a grandparent the two of you alone experienced. A milestone met by a child of yours when they didn’t even know you were watching them. A time where you first offered a smile and a pleasant conversation to lift another well above a bad experience they had. A student that grasped and applied a concept you introduced as if it were their own.
Simple occurrences in life, such as the ones above, generate the most valuable memories. Don’t look only to the major accomplishments for memories to be made and retained. It is better to appreciate the blessing of the simplest moments as they are occurring. If you focus to look for them, these simplest of moments can turn into memories that guide us and hold us to a greater good. The key is to look out for them and to learn again from them as vivid memories.
