Amid adversity, you’ll quickly come to know yourself and those that would be allies with you. An ally wouldn’t conveniently disappear, nor shy away from their overt support of your actions because of a disappointing event. This is when you may best determine who you can consistently rely on as you set your course.
Know for yourself both your allies and your adversaries. Each will help you to learn from the positions that they hold and passionately believe in.
Be more leery of those that protect themselves, wavering somewhere in between from holding a position for themselves amid uncertainty. These are the ones that may alter their position at the hint of adversity to go another way from their shared intentions.
“Adversity is the state in which man most easily becomes acquainted with himself, being especially free of admirers.” — John Wooden —
