With reality, there is the necessity to deal with it as a part of life. It doesn’t go away because we would like it to, in fact ,it expands to become even more prominent if we ignore it. Reality is not something to catch up with later.
Reality is a better place to start from as the fulcrum for experiences to have lived and learned with. A full commitment to live a full life requires that we accept the good and the bad of what is real. To pretend the conditions or outcome to be different from what they really are can only lead us astray. One make believe determination leads to another and then another while reality waits to eventually be dealt with.
What you make of reality is on you. How you deal with reality is critical to learning and evolving as a person. Learning goes lost in the make believe efforts of avoidance and ignorance. Learn first from reality to then imagine and attain a better way and a better outcome.
“Whether you like it or not, you are committed to the human endeavor. I cannot ally myself with such a purely negative goal as avoidance of suffering. Suffering is a chance you take by the fact of being alive.” — William S. Burroughs —
