Variety

We have all come to be influenced by the people that we surround ourselves with. There are a variety of sources and types of influence that seep into our lives as we allow it to be. A variety is better than a single source. Accept the influence effort of those that you feel that you can trust and admire, not those that share no genuine interest in your well-being.

Influence needn’t come from an authority figure or someone possessing a higher status than your own. A great number of people have influenced me without any sort of position of authority. I was influenced because my perspective of them was admirable and displayed in a in a fashion that I chose to integrate for myself. Most of those people that influenced me are probably not even aware that they had done so with me.

Be cautiously aware of those that overtly work to influence others for their own cause and without your cause or purpose as a consideration. Influence may come from anywhere and from anyone, even in the form of doing the polar opposite of what they have done.

“We need a variety of input and influence and voices. You cannot get all the answers to life and business from one person or one source.” — Jim Rohn —
