To remain calm amid adversity gives us a tremendous advantage. If we were to continue to think and act rationally, we would more adeptly find the better way through it. If we succumb to adversity, we begin to cede our full mental capacity to think, to analyze and to act for our own good. Easy to say, hard to do.
A key to success is to retain a sense of poise at all times. Protect your thoughts to remain in balance. Be calm no matter the circumstances and you have your full capacity to not only survive a threat, but to surpass and grow from it. Be proactive to know when trouble may arrive before it ever would. It is more complicated to remain calm when we are caught totally off guard.
You will move forward one way or another and adversity should have little effect on our success if we would retain our poise. We may as well be calm and rationale, no matter the circumstances and conditions presented to us. If you would begin to lose your poise, stop to gain it back rather than rush to react with a lesser thought and action.
“Remember that poise and power are inseparably associated. The calm and balanced mind is the strong and great mind; the hurried and agitated mind is the weak one.” — Wallace D. Wattles —
