We can’t complete a sixty day goal in thirty days. We can’t win the regular season title of the league after winning just a few games early on. To reach goals of highest impact requires that we think and act in the best way possible over a period of time. To do this requires that we channel a number of things together to sustain a meaningful effort. This is where many people will fall short.
First, without a clear goal and a sound and adaptable plan, we would never attain the goals to make us better over time. Persistence is required to do again and again what is necessary to reach that goal. Motivation may rise and fall, but it thrusts you onward until the very end. Learning from all past and present experiences to apply what we are learning into the present actions sets the future. Determination exudes over time in quantity to carry the work forward for the determined time frame.
To channel all of this is to have been a better and more learned person in your contributions over a longer time span. Never a one and done, just a continuous learner with a set of goals that sets your course. No excuses or alibis, just doing the habitual work that needs to be done so that we may celebrate the attainment of meaningful goals over time. A sixty day goal can only be reached on the sixtieth day, keep learning.
“Grit is that ‘extra something’ that separates the most successful people from the rest. It’s the passion, perseverance, and stamina that we must channel in order to stick with dreams until they become a reality.” — Travis Bradberry —
