The real teachers in our lives aren’t present for us with the purpose to tell us what to think, nor to prescribe precisely how we should act. The best of them will promote your discovery of an array of knowledge so that you would fully engage in the application of the knowledge for yourself.
The essence of our personal learning should not be to follow, but to walk alongside the teacher. As we proceed with them, we will grow from personal experience what to feel, to think and therefore to decide upon our own actions in finding a better and more learned way.
To teach is to aim to set the stage for learners to act upon, knowing the critical necessities of learning come from within the thoughts and actions of the student. Students aiming to learn should know that it is only from their curiosity and determination to excel that they will most assuredly learn for their own application.
“I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It’s all a question of how I view my life.” — Paulo Coelho —
