Our expressed anger against another that has done the same to you will bring no resolve. Our expressed fear to another that has done the same to you, brings no relief. Our expressed hatred against another person or matter that has been expressed to you only escalates things. There is a better way.
If our efforts are intentional to generate more conflict, more anxiety and more hatred, continue to react to the emotions of the other with the same emotions. Fly off the handle with no emotional, social or intellectual control to make your feelings known in return.
If our efforts are to generate a better life, a better family or a better community, then pause to reflect before you would simply react with raw emotion to mirror another and then more. A better course is set for ourselves and others when under emotional control. Others will learn from this experience as well. There is always a better way.
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” — Martin Luther King, Jr. —
